So Much in March
Chronic Pain, Etta Easton's Holiday Romance, and a Favorite Childhood Tune
We’re only a few days into March, friends, and already it’s a lot. When the world gets overwhelming and scary, I think books become even more important. Books offer us solace and support. Information and perspective. Escape and entertainment. And we need all of that.
In case you missed them, I’m including links to my last two blog posts:
February 25th: It’s a Pain
March 4th: Not in the Christmas Plan
Writing Prompt:
This prompt comes from Rupi Kaur’s Writing Prompts. I like to use the prompt as a way to start. Sometimes i’ll write for five minutes and everything I write directly relates to the prompt. Other times, in the span of five minutes my writing has gone somewhere completely unexpected and far from where I started. See where it leads you.
“When have others misjudged you, and how did it make you feel?”
Something I’m Wondering About:
The other day I heard someone use the word drapes and after that the word just kept swirling around in my mind. Drapes isn’t a word I hear often. If I'm referencing a window covering, I would use the word curtains. How about you? Drapes or curtains? Are there certain situations when you might use one word over the other? I’m genuinely curious, so please share in the comments. I read and respond to all comments (whether they have to do with window coverings or not).
Wendy Stamp of Approval:
I loved this tune as a little girl. (I still do.) I had a small jewelry box that played this piece of music when you opened the top. I hadn’t heard this piece in years, and then discovered this video. Anyone else remember “Music Box Dancer”?
This Date in History:
International Women’s Day is celebrated each year on March 8th. The first International Women’s Day was celebrated worldwide on March 8th, 1945.
On March 8th, 1884, Susan B. Anthony addressed the Judiciary Committee of the House of Representatives, arguing for an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would grant women the right to vote.
Until Next Time -
Wishing you sunny days and peaceful nights, friends!

Drapes make me think of a Victorian manor. Curtains, blinds, window treatments are more likely in my world.😂
